María Fernanda Mejía is the CEO, International, at Newell Brands. She is a global consumer products expert with three decades of international experience and a track record of leading organizational transformation, improving operating performance, increasing shareholder value and driving impressive P&L results. María Fernanda oversees Newell’s international P&L and international growth initiatives and transformation strategies.
Prior to Newell, María Fernanda served as Senior Vice President & President of Kellogg Latin America at the Kellogg Company, leading the transformation of the LATAM region. She also led the development of the company’s global strategy, category marketing and innovation, supply chain optimization, digital transformation, customer management and talent development.
Prior to The Kellogg Company, María Fernanda spent 23 years at the Colgate-Palmolive Company in global roles including Marketing Director, Venezuela, for the Latin America Division; General Manager, Hong Kong, for the Asia Pacific Division; CEO, Spain, for the European Division and Corporate Vice President of Marketing for the Europe and South Pacific Division. As Vice President and General Manager of Global Personal Care and Worldwide Fragrance & Flavors Development, she oversaw the global growth strategy, marketing and innovation, R&D and supply chain.
María Fernanda has extensive governance experience having served as a non-executive director on a variety of public company boards including Pepco Group and previously Bunzl plc, Grocery Outlet and International Consolidated Airline Group.
María Fernanda holds a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial distribution from Texas A&M University.
