1 Tell us about your role at Newell Brands.

As Campus Recruiting Manager for our Campus Recruiting Team, I lead a team of three Campus Recruiting Leads and Recruiters who are dedicated to supporting the business in finding top talent from colleges for our best-in-class Summer Internship Program and entry-level roles.

The Campus Recruiting Team is also critical to managing our Summer Internship Program, including the orientation, intern onboarding, performance evaluations and final presentations.

2 What do you think makes a great Newell Brands intern?

A great intern is a student who is confident but humble, asks a lot of questions, takes ownership of his or her work, accepts feedback and advice openly, and adapts to the ever-changing business at Newell Brands.

3 Speaking of our business, which product in our brand portfolio is your favorite and why?

My favorite product right now would have to be the Calphalon Contemporary Self-Sharpening 15-Piece Block Set. I use the knives every day to make my HelloFresh meals (which typically require lots of chopping).

It’s great to have a reliable set of knives that self-sharpen each time I take them out of the block and put them away.

4 Describe your reaction to finding out you ranked as No. 1 Internship Program Manager in the WayUp Internship Awards.

My first thought: “Wait, really?! Wow, what in the world did I do to deserve this recognition?!”

But in all seriousness, winning this award is a direct result of the hard work and dedication of the entire Campus Recruiting Team, Campus Champions and leaders within the business. Everyone involved has devoted time and energy to recruiting, interviewing, training and mentoring our summer interns.

It takes a village to run a top summer internship program, and one of my favorite things about working for Newell Brands is the level of buy-in we have from our leaders and employees for making our program best-in-class!

5 What is your big 2018 goal for our internship program?

Ranking No. 4 among the Top 100 Internship Programs absolutely validates the incredible program we have in place, but we have a lot more to do for 2018 and beyond. With that said, my biggest goal for the Newell Brands Internship Program is relaunching as one program throughout the newly integrated company - resulting in an increase of program opportunities available for our interns.
