Paper Mate and Abu Garcia, Berkley, Stren and Spiderwire were recently recognized by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Georgia Chapter during their annual awards ceremony on November 9, 2017.

Paper Mate InkJoy’s “Stop Smears, Spread Joy” campaign received the Golden Flame -- the highest recognition given to a campaign -- for excellence in marketing, communications and advertising. The campaign, in partnership with singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes, was previously honored at the SABRE Awards, a national communications awards program.

Abu Garcia, Berkley, Stren and Spiderwire received the Silver Flame Excellence in Social Media award for their coverage of the Bassmaster Classic competition.

The IABC Golden Flame Awards recognize three levels of excellence – Gold, Silver and Bronze – based on the entry score. This is the first year Newell Brands participated in the awards.

Paper Mate, along with Sharpie and Yankee Candle, was also celebrated by the Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) Georgia Chapter, the second largest PRSA chapter in the United States.

Sharpie received a Phoenix Award in the Marketing Consumer Products – Packaged Goods category for its launch of Sharpie Extreme with businesswoman and adventure seeker Masha Gordon. A Phoenix Award is the highest honor given by the PRSA Georgia Chapter, making Sharpie the top-scoring entry for the Consumer Products – Packaged Goods category.

Paper Mate InkJoy’s “Stop Smears, Spread Joy” campaign and Yankee Candle’s Mother’s Day in-store personalization launch were also honored as programs of Excellence by PRSA.
