Newell Brands has been recognized in the 2017 Internship Awards conducted by careers site, WayUp, as the #4 ranked program in America, alongside some of the world’s most recognizable and respected brands. Additionally, Campus Recruiting Manager, Christine Terminello, was recognized the #1 ranked Internship Program Manager.
“Ranking among the Top Internship Programs absolutely validates the incredible program we have in place, but we have a lot more to do for 2018 and beyond,” Christine said. “My biggest goal for the Newell Brands Internship Program is relaunching as one program throughout the newly integrated company, resulting in an increase of program opportunities available for our interns.”
Newell Brands programming stood out for a variety of perks the offer its interns, including Lunch & Learns with executives and team building activities outside of the office such as bowling and golfing excursions. During the summer internship program at Newell Brands, each intern is also assigned a mentor and is evaluated on his or her progress throughout the summer.
According to WayUp, the programs that made it to the top 10 stood out even more for their focus on ensuring their interns learned as much as possible. But at Newell Brands, it also takes a great candidate to make the most of the 12 week program. And what makes a stellar intern?
"A great intern is a student who is confident but humble, asks a lot of questions, takes ownership of his or her work, accepts feedback and advice openly, and adapts to the ever-changing business at Newell Brands," Christine said.
