Felicidades go out to our teams in Mexico for earning a spot on the coveted “Great Place to Work” 2017 list. Newell Brands Mexico took the 86th spot among the top 100 ranked companies with 500 – 5000 employees. To add to that, were ranked 21 of 100 in the Diversity and Inclusion category for the region.
This marks the 11th consecutive year our Mexicali manufacturing site has been awarded and the first time for our Mexico City corporate office.
The recognition is extra special this year since it comes shortly after taking the first steps to transitioning into Newell Brands. Integrating the manufacturing plant along with the office has had its challenges, but has been a rewarding experience, according to the team who has worked together to achieve a “one company approach” during this process.
“[Working here] challenges you every day” said Tzigueri Yanez, Talent Acquisition Lead. “Every day you’re becoming a better professional. You’re facing a lot of challenges, but you work hard to make a mark on our consumers.”
Team efforts were needed when obtaining the necessary certifications to be considered for recognition. According to the Great Place to Work program, companies who apply — 500 in this case — are scored in several areas including findings from a Culture Brief and evaluation through the program’s Trust Index™, where credibility, respect, fairness, camaraderie and pride are all taken into account.
Additionally, Great Place to Work evaluates its candidates with a Culture Audit, reviewing all practices, policies and programs of a company. Newell Brands stood out from the crowd for programs like NewellFlex, Newell Central, Newell Club, Performance Management, and for activities focused around inclusion and diversity.
“[Our successes] put us in a position for aggressive growth and towards fulfilling our ambitions,” said Andrea Augusto, HR Business Partner & Manager. “I like where the company is headed and our employees are embracing the dream.” The future could also hold more recognition for our LATAM offices as tHR teams work to gain a Great Place to Work certification in other regions.
Our teams around the globe can agree that a recognition like this truly proves that we can perform while we transform.
