We are proud to announce Newell Brands’ third-annual Corporate Citizenship Report, Creating Shared Value. In this year’s report, we showcase the ways in which we are innovating to create more sustainable products, collaborating to reduce the impacts of our operations, investing in the success and growth of our people, dedicating ourselves to our communities and bringing our Values to life in all we do.

2021 was a tremendous year of resiliency for Newell Brands as we adjusted to the longer-term impacts of COVID-19, including global supply chain pressures, inflation, labor shortages and ongoing health concerns. Driven by our Vision to be an innovation powerhouse and a force for good in the world, our employees devised new solutions and worked collaboratively to enable tremendous financial results and impressive outcomes across sustainability, diversity, inclusion and belonging (DI&B), philanthropy and more. We saw the positive effects of our dedicated employees and leaders and inclusive culture with an impressive increase to our 2021 employee engagement score, moving us in line with Glint’s global benchmarks.

Creating Shared Value demonstrates our continued progress against our 2025 operations sustainability, packaging and DI&B goals, and introduces new goals to further our impact. Most notably, we have set a goal to become carbon neutral by 2040 for all Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions across our global portfolio. This commitment symbolizes a significant step forward in our efforts to mitigate the risks associated with climate change. In addition, we have expanded our 2025 goals with a new plastic packaging goal and two new philanthropy goals.

We are optimistic about the year ahead and welcome the opportunity to continue creating value for our employees, investors, customers and consumers.
