Segment CEO, Home & Commercial
Mike McDermott is the Segment CEO, Home & Commercial at Newell Brands, inclusive of the Commercial, Food, Home Fragrance and Home Appliances businesses.
Prior to Newell, Mike held the role of president of Omni-Channel Retail at Bass Pro Shops, where he was a member of the senior executive team with P&L responsibility and led the retail business strategy.
Mike also was the Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer at Lowe’s Companies where he co-owned the business P&L, and oversaw all aspects of merchandising, customer experience and marketing, including digital, global sourcing and business strategy. He revitalized Lowe’s business strategy to “win the home,” significantly increased online revenue and, as a member of the executive leadership team, increased annual operating income. Mike also served as Chief Merchandising Officer at Lowe’s with oversight for product, category and vendor development across the enterprise.
Prior to Lowe’s, Mike had various management roles at General Electric Company, including Head of Sales for GE Appliances and Product General Manager for Cooking.
