Mike McDermott is Segment CEO, Home & Commercial at Newell Brands, where he leads the company’s Home Fragrance and Commercial businesses. He also has enterprise-wide responsibility for Newell’s Business-to-Business (B2B) capability, focusing on expanding distribution, enhancing execution, and unlocking growth in the healthcare, hospitality, and government sectors.
Mike brings deep experience in general management, merchandising, and customer strategy. Prior to joining Newell, he served as President of Omni-Channel Retail at Bass Pro Shops, where he was a member of the senior executive team.
Before that, Mike was Executive Vice President & Chief Customer Officer at Lowe’s Companies, where he co-owned the business P&L and led all aspects of merchandising, customer experience and marketing—including digital, global sourcing, and strategic planning. He also served as Chief Merchandising Officer at Lowe’s, overseeing product, category, and vendor development across the enterprise. During his tenure, he played a key role in revitalizing Lowe’s strategy, significantly increasing online revenue and driving operating income growth as part of the executive leadership team.
Earlier in his career, Mike held leadership roles at General Electric, including Head of Sales for GE Appliances and Product General Manager for Cooking.
