Newell Brands sponsored the “Back to School Bash” for the fourth consecutive year, which featured more than 130 employee volunteers who helped facilitate fun activities, educational community resources and interactive exhibits.

Additionally, the company distributed more than 20,000 products from our portfolio of brands, including Paper Mate, Elmer’s, Mr. Sketch and more to 9,000 attendees at the annual celebration held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

The fun didn’t stop there: attendees learned about water conservation with Bubba, wrote their dreams on a Sharpie Dream Wall, labeled backpacks using DYMO, wrote Mad Libs with EXPO and of course, created slime using Elmer’s school glue. Parents also learned how to install and fit their children for car seats, with more than 50 parents winning one in a giveaway courtesy of Graco.

“Back to school is our Super Bowl,” said Geoff Feil, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Writing Division, during opening remarks alongside Meria Joel Carstarphen, Superintendent of Atlanta Public Schools.

Feil added, “we’re excited to be back sponsoring this event and want to thank the volunteers, teachers, administrators and parents giving up their Saturday to be here and get these kids’ schoolyear off to a tremendous start.”

We’re proud of our employees who volunteered and executed these activities to prepare students for the first day back to school!
