In our journey to becoming a high-performance, values-driven company, we know there is power when we leverage our global presence to make a difference. We recently completed our CommUnity Day of Service, a global, company-wide initiative to positively impact the communities where we live and operate and strengthen our culture of teamwork, inclusion and service. Many of our office and site locations around the globe dedicated a day over a period of two weeks to serve our consumers and local communities as One Newell through service projects and volunteer opportunities, supporting causes that matter most to our employees.
Worldwide, across Newell, local teams put their unique stamp on service with a variety of actions. 130 local Ambassadors in nearly 70 locations and 28 countries brought over 60 activations to life. Brampton, Canada supported a camp program for children and families affected by childhood cancer; Maryville, TN, packaged food for a local food bank; Chennai, India and Mexicali, Mexico led beautification and clean-up efforts for schools in underserved areas; Atlanta, GA, Poznan, Poland and Exton, PA, volunteered and donated essentials to animal shelters; Lichfield, England created activity packs for children in long-stay hospitals; Scoresby, Australia organized a blood and plasma donation drive for the Red Cross; several of our sites worked with our corporate nonprofit partners including Save the Children (Hong Kong, China prepared stationery kits and wrote cards of encouragement), Boys & Girls Clubs of America and past Local Impact Grant recipients for their volunteer activity; and more.
CommUnity Day of Service doesn’t happen on its own. A special thank you to our 130 employee Ambassadors across 70 locations who worked to bring their day of service to life locally. Their leadership, ownership and commitment to collaboration and teamwork inspire and create meaningful change.
