At Newell Brands, the safety and wellbeing of our employees is our number one priority. We’re committed to our goal of zero injuries, zero unsafe conditions and zero unsafe behaviors and are proud to maintain a world-class safety record. An important part of maintaining a safety culture is educating, encouraging and empowering frontline employees to take ownership of their safety.

This spring, our Supply Chain and Corporate Communications teams joined forces on a campaign called 'Preventing Slips, Trips, and Falls.' Slips, trips and falls are among the most common incidents and can often result in serious injuries. The campaign aimed to highlight common risks and ensure employees understand how to prevent injuries.

Each week, employees received newsletters printed and through our mobile app focused on safety excellence and wins across our facilities. The newsletters included quizzes to test employees' knowledge of a specific safety topic. In total, our frontline employees submitted over 8,500 responses. Those who achieved a perfect score were entered to win a prize.

The local Safety teams developed site-specific activations, including conducting Hazard Hunts, distributing and displaying commitment cards, and providing training on the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). They also educated employees on weather-based hazards and potential risks to look out for at home. These initiatives aimed to empower employees to take responsibility for their safety at work and in their personal lives.

Check out a few of the many activations hosted at our facilities globally, including events in South Deerfield, Massachusetts; Zhongshan, China; Balneário Piçarras, Brazil and Whatley, Massachusetts.

We thank our frontline community and local leadership for their support and enthusiastic participation in the campaign.
