As a consumer products company, we are committed to developing innovative packaging solutions for our consumers. The Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) recently recognized Sharpie’s® Ultimate Collection Pack packaging in the Design Excellence category of this year’s AmeriStar Awards.

The Ultimate Collection Pack, created in collaboration with WestRock, showcases 65 colorful Sharpie markers organized in cascading rows through a clear lid, surrounded by bright artwork and a prominent Sharpie logo. The box was designed to meet both cost and efficiency targets, which inspired wings that neatly fold in for transport, storage and display, creating a stadium-style product stand when opened. In this position, all three package sections face the consumer, giving them a full view of all the colorful marker options to select.

Packaging for similar products is often made from a thin, solid fiber chipboard. The primary package for the Sharpie Ultimate Collection Pack is a thicker, more premium solid fiber chipboard that provides strength and protection during transport and use. The top and sides of the package are enclosed with a tamper-evident clear lid that protects against damage to the pack during transport, securely sealed to the package with two clear labels. Three notched paperboard inserts are fastened inside the consoles. Sharpie marker caps attach to the notches, keeping markers upright for optimal branding.
