Back-to-school season is under way and our commitment to supporting the communities where we live and operate is stronger than ever. At Newell Brands, we believe that every student deserves the tools and opportunities to succeed inside and outside the classroom. This back-to-school season, we’re proud to give back through our Nonprofit Network to support students, their families and educators.

Our iconic brands are recognized in classrooms and homes around the world and help students start the year with confidence and creativity. From essential school supplies to hands-on volunteer efforts, see how Newell’s corporate giving is making a meaningful impact with our nonprofit partners where it matters most.

Good360: Good360 helps us efficiently distribute donated goods to nonprofits and underserved communities. Recently, they facilitated a truckload-sized donation of EXPO® Dry Erase Markers, providing nearly 600 teachers in underserved communities with markers for their classrooms to ensure they feel supported and ready for the coming year. One teacher shared that through supplies she typically purchases herself, she uses an average of 25 EXPO Dry Erase Markers in her classroom each year. With this year’s donation, she and hundreds of teachers at her school won’t have to shoulder that cost alone. In addition, Good360 also coordinated five other truckloads of school supply donations that will be used to meet future supply needs.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America: As part of a three-year $1 million partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Sharpie® and Paper Mate® are helping open the door to after-school support and arts programming for kids and teens across the country. Newell employee volunteers recently hosted a “Back-to-School Prep Rally” at Hoboken Boys & Girls Club, where they engaged with over 100 club members through a series of fun and inspiring activities designed to spark excitement and confidence for the upcoming school year. Using Sharpie and Paper Mate products, club kids personalized Sistema® To-Go food containers and Contigo® water bottles, added flair to their backpacks with custom hats, keychains, and iron-on patches, colored a mural filled with positive affirmations and created their own Summer Bucket Lists for a fun, memorable and meaningful event. To double down on their commitment, Sharpie and Paper Mate are official Back to School Match partners, matching donations on BGCA.org/backtoschool through August 25.

Empty Stocking Fund: Empty Stocking Fund (ESF) provides resources and tools to teachers, students and families in underserved schools in the Atlanta area. Newell’s Atlanta headquarters employees packed 1,500 supply kits for ESF filled with products from Paper Mate, Sharpie, Elmer’s® and EXPO. Newell also donated X-ACTO® pencil sharpeners and Sistema To-Go food containers, along with $10,000 to support student supply kits and the ESF Education Express. ESF delivers these supplies directly to classrooms where they’re most needed.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta: Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Metro Atlanta helps children realize their potential to build their futures through mentorship and strengthening communities. This summer, Newell employees joined BBBS of Metro Atlanta for their annual Back-to-School Bash. Together, they distributed 1,000 backpacks with essential school supplies, including Elmer’s Glue Sticks, Sharpie Permanent Markers and Paper Mate InkJoy Gel Bright Pens to students in the metro Atlanta area, preparing and empowering them for the academic year ahead.

This back-to-school season, we remain dedicated to community impact through education: strengthening communities and creating brighter beginnings for young learners, their families and teachers.
