Over the weekend of December 10, 2021, dozens of tornadoes touched down across multiple southern and midwestern states in the United States, including Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee, resulting in nearly 90 deaths. In addition to the tragic loss of life, thousands of homes were destroyed, and many are without power, as search and rescue teams work tirelessly to provide much assistance in the wake of this tragedy.

In response to these disasters, The Newell Brands Charitable Foundation made a financial donation to the American Red Cross (ARC) to support their efforts in affected communities. As part of our Resilient Response Pledge, Newell Brands is working with our nonprofit partner, Good360, to provide product donations which will be used in relief efforts, including our Rubbermaid Commercial Products and Contigo® and bubba® reusable water bottles. Newell is also donating NUK® bottles and pacifiers for local families in need.

We were heartbroken to learn that the Mayfield Consumer Products candle production facility was included in the destruction, and more than 100 employees were in the building at that time, working hard, as our own Home Fragrance business employees are, to meet the holiday demand. We recognize the impact this devastation has on the local community as they deal with the loss of loved ones, friends, and team members who worked in the facility. In support of the MCP employees affected by these tornadoes, our Home Fragrance business made a donation to the MCP Candles Tornado Victims Fund, which is directing 100 percent of funds raised to victim relief.

Our One Newell Family is inspired by the generosity and humanity of the many people and organizations coming together to help to these communities as they heal and rebuild.
